JVP News from around the world

3 Churches

Occasional news from the Jesus Video Project around the world - usually from Roger Vann, the Agape staff member for Europe...

Italy

The 'Jesus Video Project' has been launched in a most encouraging way. Ten churches in Campania (region south of Naples) have mobilised folks to 'give the Story' to friends and neighbors. The acceptance rate has exceeded everyone's expectations and these dear believers are discovering genuine spiritual interest everywhere they turn. I have spent two evenings training volunteers to lead Bible discussion groups for non-Christians. It's a big step for many, as they haven't even been part of a 'prayer and share' group with other believers. (Long story - no time to explain now.)

Estonia

This small Baltic country is coming out of its years of Soviet oppression with a bang - both economically and spiritually. The Jesus Video Project is uniting almost all denominations and by subsidising the price of the 'Jesus' video we're giving these dear, financially-limited believers something of genuine quality to offer their non-Christian contacts. The project has a new director - a young graduate who decided to join our full-time staff instead of beginning his law career with a leading firm in Tallinn. I was there to bring him up to speed on the project.
