Our Parish Weekend away together was rather different this year because we didn't go away! It was none the poorer for that.
After a good Friday evening in OSCA, we started Saturday by meeting for prayer followed by breakfast. Our youngsters had slept (?) the night at St Marks, where we joined them at 10am for our respective programmes of teaching - the adults being led by Tim McMahon and our young people by David Whitehouse and his team. After a couple of sessions, we broke for lunch and after a further session and some free time, we met together again for dinner, when we were entertained by a troupe of medieval dancers.
On Sunday, we joined with the rest of our congregations and our assembled musicians for our Sunday meeting. Lunch on Sunday was followed by various sporting activities including trampolining and football. Some, of course, overexerted themselves and needed cooling off.
As always, we enjoyed ourselves immensely but, more importantly, we learned a lot.
